I am only one person. How does one make visible the complexities of womanhood? Womanhood is messy. It is not proper or clean. Each of us is comprised of our family histories and past personal struggles. We all have vastly different experiences yet we share the experience of being female.
In this series, I attempt to make visual the feelings of fear, anger, and resistance so many young women like myself face in 2018, while still dealing with antiquated views about our society. Beyond the pleasant surface layer of color and the familiarity of the ladies room, I hope to create a dialogue about what it means to be a woman today.
